Towards Zero – Getting There Together, Road Safety Strategy 2008-2020

The Association, as a member of the Road Safety Council, was invited to provide input on the development of the next WA road safety strategy.

A discussion paper entitled Towards Zero – Getting There Together, Road Safety Strategy 2008-2020 was prepared, bringing together views expressed by the community during phase 1 of the community consultation process and the findings of research undertaken by the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) on WA roads. The Association sought feedback on the discussion paper from member Local Governments to assist with the development of a formal submission to the Office of Road Safety.

A copy of the discussion paper, info page and a fax back was sent to Local Governments to assist with the feedback process. In addition, the Office of Road Safety provided a feedback form and reply paid envelope to gather community feedback. Councils were encouraged to participate in both feedback processes.
