The Community Road Safety Grants Program has allocated funds to provide financial assistance for workforce development grants. These are divided into two different grants titled, Form A and Form B

Workforce Development Grant A provides financial assistance for individuals to participate in a conference, workshop, forum or course (workforce development) that will benefit the progression of the Towards Zero strategy across Western Australia.

Workforce Development Grant B provides financial assistance for relevant groups to conduct an approved regional or local conference, forum, workshop, course or training (workforce development) that will contribute to the effective implementation of the Towards Zero WA road safety strategy across Western Australia

It is envisioned that this assistance will improve the capacity of individuals to increase their knowledge of road safety and/or ability to plan, implement and evaluate road safety projects.

Grant amount
Workforce Development Grant A total expenses must be not more than $2000. View Workforce Development Grant A Guidelines for more information.
There is no set limit for Workforce Development Grant B. View Workforce Development Grant B Guidelines for more information.

Criteria
For Workforce Development Grant A all applications must show evidence that the candidate has approached their own organisation/employer and has been denied for funding. Evidence and reasons why the funding was not approved must be attached to the application.

Volunteer, community and not for profit organisations/groups
• Application for coverage of total cost permitted. 

Local Governments
• Application for a proportion of the total cost permitted in conjunction with cost sharing with your organisation.

For Workforce Development Grant B preference will be given to applications that conduct their own workforce development that:
• Align to the Towards Zero road safey strategy and the safe system approach to road safety.
• Is based on evidence and refers to current road safety research.
• Demonstrates clear relevance for the target group;
• Uses an approach that has previously been successful in building capacity to achieve road safety objectives;
• Demonstrates sustainable outcomes;
• Provides a contribution in cash or kind towards the project;
• Demonstrate a regional focus for maximum impact.
• Clearly demonstrates how the intended participants are already involved or will become involved in road safety.

Reporting
Upon the completion of the workforce development, successful applicants will be expected to share the knowledge gained to positively contribute to road safety initiatives within their community.
As per grant conditions successful applicants are required to complete an evaluation report (Workforce Development Grant A and Workforce Development Grant B) and a financial acquittal one month following the workforce development.

Applications must be received at least three months prior to the event date. Applications close on the first Friday of every month.
