To further encourage community groups to participate in road safety, the Community Road Safety Grants Program is providing sponsorship grants from $50 to $1000 for events. Successful applicants will be supplied with a road safety message with relevant information and suggestions for supporting policies.

Grant amount:
All Community Road Safety Grant applications are assessed by the Community Road Safety Committee. The grant amount will be based on;
• Number of attendees.
• Promotion and delivery of the road safety message.
• Supporting policies.

Criteria:
• There should be no conflicting road safety message.
• Number of expected participants (this will determine funding amount).
• Successful applicants must agree to have the signage visable at the event and return to the Community Road Safety Grants Program after the event.
• Where possible, a supporting policy should be implemented (see below for examples)
• Must be a not-for-profit group/organisation.
• Limit of one application, per event, per year.
• Funds to be used exclusively on the day/night of the event for the project and not in anyway dedicated to fundraising.
• Application must be approved and sighted by the event organiser and your regional road safety officer

Reporting:
Successful applicants will be required to submit an evaluation report within one month of the event, includes:
• Number of attendees
• Associated media
• Photo of signage in place
• Policies implemented
• Financial acquittal

Successful applicants will receive funds on presentation of a tax invoice and signed declaration and acceptance of Grant Conditions.
