Funded Grants Round 12 May 2010

City of Stirling, Please Slow Down Consider our Kids - Phase II - $21,406.00
The initial bin sticker component of ‘Drop 5 Save Lives’ saw a focus on placing the stickers on bins around school. Phase II will see an increased focus on targeted local roads identified through traffic count data and letters/phone calls of concern from local residents as well as encouraging participation through the local media. Phase II will also see a greater linking in with existing projects such as the community safe speed promise and deployment of the City’s speed alert mobile (SAM). West Metro traffic Police have also committed to conducting speed enforcement operations on targeted street, using the City’s traffic count data to operate one times and days where it will have the most effect.
