Projects/Issues
In 2011, the Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group was very active in their community. A highlight was the School Road Safety Art Competition. Also, some members of the group attended the Australasian Road Safety Research, Policing and Education Conference. The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group is looking forward to a productive 2012 – spreading the Towards Zero road safety message to all residents of the City of Gosnells.
Safe Speeds
Slow Down Consider Our Kids Bin Stickers
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group has distributed "please slow down consider our kids"© bin stickers to all schools in their area to slow down around schools and look out for pedestrians. The stickers have been distributed in the streets around all schools in the City of Gosnells to remind drivers to slow down in school zones and look out for pedestrians.
Speed Display Trailer
The speed display trailer is used by the City of Gosnells to educate drivers about safe travel speeds on the Gosnells road network. The speed display trailer is deployed on a regular basis to different locations within the City of Gosnells to reduce travel speeds.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims – November 2011
Together with the ARK RoadWise Committee, the Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group held a World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims commemoration ceremony at Canningvale College on Friday 4 November 2011. The key speakers for the event were The City of Gosnells Mayor, Dave Griffiths and Mr Frank Albans, Member for Swan Hills, representing the Minister for Road Safety. This event is held annually.
Alcohol Think Again Perth Heat Police Christmas Campaign Launch – December 2011
For the second successful year in a row the ARK RoadWise Committee and Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group attended the launch of the police Christmas campaign. The Towards Zero trailer and keen committee members promoted the road safety message. There was great enthusiasm from the crowd with the distribution of 1000 white ribbons.
Safe Vehicles
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group have conducted a number of shopping centre displays on safety features in cars and the importance of purchasing four and five star cars.
Coming Up
January 2012 – Blow 0.00 and Win
To encourage and reward those who don’t drink and drive local police are offering drivers a chance to win great prizes in the Blow 0.00 and Win promotion. This campaign highlights the importance of organising a skipper or staying over when venturing out socially. The message is simple: if you plan to drink, plan not to drive. The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group and ARK RoadWise Committee are working together for this promotion.
February/March/April 2012 - People in Parks Events
Get to know your neighbours during the City of Gosnells People in Parks events. These popular events are a great way to meet new people and help improve awareness of community safety. The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group will attend these events, providing residents with valuable information about road safety.

October 2012 - Motorcycle Awareness Week
Look out for a display in the City of Gosnells library.
November 2012 - Multicultural Food Festival
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group use the Multicultural Food Festival as an opportunity to show the road safety display trailer and educate people on various road safety topics including changes to child car restraint regulations and promotion of the White Ribbons for Road Safety.
November 2012 - Canning Show
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group will be promoting road safety at the annual Canning Show. Look out for the bright green Towards Zero Trailer, have a chat to one of the friendly Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group members.
November 2012 - World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group will hold a World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims Ceremony. Event details will be released closer to the event.
December 2012 – White Ribbons for Road Safety
The Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group will hand out white ribbons and remind everyone to be safe on the roads during the festive season.
