Regional Profile

The Metropolitan South Region is situated south of the Swan River and incorporates 14 Local Government Areas: Armadale, Belmont, Canning, Cockburn, East Fremantle, Fremantle, Gosnells, Kalamunda, Kwinana, Melville, Rockingham, Serpentine-Jarrahdale, South Perth and Victoria Park. The region has a population of around 690,930 and covers an area of 2,670.78 sq kms which incorporates 5,848.89kms of sealed and 217.69kms of unsealed roads.

Main industries include commercial/retail, manufacturing, agriculture, fishing, entertainment, tourism, food production and refineries.
